Photo by me in the Rocky Mountains. Broomfield is not super photogenic.
Background
While working at CU Boulder I found a job with a few more creative opportunities at the City and County of Broomfield. Beyond working on the website, I was tasked to be project manager for a number of short and long term communication projects, given creative to create graphics for use across digital platforms and in print, and was able to write quite often.
Essential duties
Acted as project manager on a number of communications campaigns, ranging from seeking applicants to serve on local boards and commissions to marketing water conservation programs.
Performed a comprehensive, site-wide analysis of the 2,700 page website to ensure WCAG 2.0 standards.
Gave presentations to staff members on the importance of digital accessibility while also providing training on how to perform corrections to digital media accessibility.
Wrote monthly articles across various subject matter for publication in a local magazine.
Trained, monitored, and assisted over 100 staff members who contributed to the website, Broomfield.org.
Created standard operating procedures for how to best utilize Google Analytics, structure web pages, and more.
My favorite part
I loved the amount of creativity and the variety of projects on which I was able to work. I worked with water conservation, sustainability, the police department, the library, youth services, on large annual events, and more. There was always something new to describe.
Another great aspect was the freedom in exploring processes. I truly enjoy exploring the benefits of using analytics to support marketing campaigns.
